How to install ceramic tiles on walls.
This is a brief overview of the tile laying process.
First, make sure that the walls are smooth, clean and dry. Measure to find the center on each end of the wall and chalk a line so that the two lines intersect in the middle of the wall, do this for both width and height, Then mix thinset mortar according to the directions on the package, next trowel on the mixed thinset mortar, in a section about two foot by two foot, and following your chalk lines start applying the tiles and push to seat well, after you have a few on the wall, tap lightly with a grout float to keep flush and even. Lay tiles in each quarter leaving all the perimeter tiles that need cut for last. Then cut and install all the cut tiles. Then let set over nite, in about 24 hours minimum, you can mix the grout and using a grout float, force the grout into the joints, then tilt the grout float so it is 90 degrees to the surface of the tiles and scrape off all the excess grout in a diagonal direction to the grout lines. Then after about 15 min. wipe gently with a damp sponge to remove more and smooth the lines. Then let set for 24 hours and come back and buff with a clean dry cloth. Also at most home stores in their tile sections they have free pamphlets which show you how to measure and figure the amount of tiles you will need, and how to layout the wall, and how to install the tiles.
What can I use to clean tile grout?
There are many grout cleaners on the market, depending on how dirty your grout is will dictate what you use, a 50/50 mix of bleach and water works on some stains, A product called Softscrub works on some, but the best thing that I've used is called The Stain Eraser. This product requires a little effort but the results are terrific. Here is their website.

How do I replace a section of broken glass in my window?
To remove the broken glass out of the sash and replace it you will have to do this from the outside of the window. First if you look around the glass area you will see a tapered area, this is glazing compound, and can be removed by scraping it off with a putty knife, be careful when removing the glass, it is very easy to cut yourself. You will also notice after removing the glazing the there are little triangular pieces of metal holding in the glass, these are called glazing points, remove these with a small pliers or flat screwdriver. Once you have the broken glass and glazing compound removed and the window sash (wood) cleaned up, then prime the wood with a good quality primer, this will help the glazing compound stick better. After dry, You will need the replacement piece of glass cut by your local glass store the size of the opening, and a little pack of glazing points, and a can of glazing compound, then insert the glass into the opening, hold in place and insert the new glazing points, at least two on each of the four sides. Then open the can of glazing compound and take out a ball of it and roll and knead in your hands until you have it fairly warm and pliable. Using you thumb start place in small amounts the whole way around the glass up against the wood, using a putty knife make a smooth pull with the knife to shape and put the cove type angle back on the glazing like your window was before. Then paint the entire sash including the glazing compound.
TIPS FOR INSTALLING REPLACEMENT WINDOWS Here is a brief description of how to install a replacement window, if you have wood windows now.
Some windows are different, but most will be like I will be describing. All you remove is the interior stop molding (little 3/4" strips of wood) on each side, which holds the bottom sash in place. Then you swing out the sash and remove, then you remove the stop molding that is between the bottom sash and the top sash. And then remove the top sash. Now clean up the area and remove anything that may hinder the installation of the replacement window, What you have now is the wood frame of the old window, you may if you want cover the exterior of this frame and trim with aluminum at this point, Now you install, insulate and secure the new replacement windows, into this opening and caulk as needed and reinstall any reusable interior trim or new trim.
